HISTORY OF GREATER WORKS CHAPEL (Area Headquarters) LP 42

______________________________________________________________

RCCG Greater Works Chapel was established in the 2002 by the Bible College Students, the year 2002 set. Eight people started the parish. This include the pioneer pastor, Pastor Marcus Adeniyan and his wife.

The parish was planted within the premises of Barrachel Nur/Pry School at 102, Agbado Road. (Now at 13, Sabainah Ola Crescent White House Bus-Stop, Iju Ishaga, Lagos).

In the year 2003, the parish had already became an Area/Zonal Headquarters. The first Area pastor was Pastor Diran Ologbenla.

In the year 2013, Pastor Ibosiola took over as the Area Pastor, while Pastor Mike Adeola was the parish pastor. On assumption of office, pastor Ibosiola said he was led by the Holy Spirit to start a programme to pray and to raise money to acquire a landed property for the parish. The prayer was answered, as the Lord provided the parish with a plot of land at 13, Sabainah Ola Crescent Off Olusegun Osoba Road, Iju Ishaga, Lagos.

The foundation laying was done on the 2nd of May, 2016 by Pastor Morenikeji (APICP CSR LP42). The first service was held at this new venue on the 30th September, 2016 (It was a 12 hours programme, starting from 6pm till 6am the following morning).

In the year 2017, Pastor Molua took over as the next Area Pastor. On assumption of office, he said, we are going to need a bigger auditorium than the one that we first built. And today the auditorium is now a reality to the glory of God. The first auditorium is now the children’s auditorium.

The parish has given birth to several parishes, some of which are now Area and Zonal headquarters.
